Incredible but true — rebar in the trunk of a passenger car!
Builders are paying more and more attention not to traditional metal rebar, but to modern fiberglass composite rebar. It has proven itself excellently in both private and industrial construction, and with savings for the consumer.
Indeed, savings are achieved by replacing steel rebar with stronger composite rebar of a smaller diameter. Moreover, no forklifts are needed, and small quantities of 6 mm to 12 mm diameter can be manually loaded into a car trunk.
The weight of 1000 linear meters of ETIZ fiberglass composite rebar with a diameter of 6 mm is about 50 kg, and with a diameter of 8 mm — only 80 kg. In addition, its volume has also decreased — in coils, the outer diameter is just over 1 m.
Furthermore, when unwinding such a coil, composite rebar does not require straightening, as it has virtually no residual deformation. However, unwinding should be done carefully and by two people due to the high elasticity. The first person holds the coil, the second removes the packaging and tie wire securing the rebar, and then pulls the rod out of the coil by the free end. The first person controls the unwinding by holding the coil so that it does not unwind on its own.
Cutting composite rebar is done using an angle grinder with a metal or ceramic cutting disc. We recommend using diamond-coated discs. Don't forget to protect your eyes. Tying is done with plastic cable ties or tie wire, as well as special plastic clip fasteners. Don't forget to wear PVC-coated gloves.
Finally, storage of ETIZ composite rebar does not require special conditions. An unheated or heated warehouse is sufficient, but not closer than one meter from heating devices and without direct sunlight. Shelf life — 2 years.
